You can be sure the game support 1440p- Even old games do now with patches and almost every new game I buy support my 1440p

That being said, it really depends on your system as well and what you want to gain from it, the higher the resulation, the better PC you need (atleast to pull proper FPS)
If you do want to go for 1440p, I suggest getting a quality monitor. I can't say for ultra wide, but alot of games also seems to support them, so that is a matter of what you prefer.

There are a huge difference from 1080p to 1440p and almost no if any difference from 1440p to 4k. (1440p is the sweetspot in my opinion) with current tech you also get good high hz monitors with low ms.
