And, if you want to be even more hardcore, there are some old modules out there where breaking for camp can be a death sentence.

“You didn’t put anyone on firewatch, so bandits snuck into your camp and slit your throats in your sleep. Reroll for another character.”

Oh wait, that’s Dunegons and Dragons... but I think the same idea applies, yeah?
