Well, no game is perfectly flawless. The ideas they have are good and they cook up indepth stories. But obviously yes it is very strongly hyped. So were many other games in the past, though. You know what to expect there. I could name on the top off my head about 3 pet peeves I have with CD Projekt Red's games, but you still gotta give them credit for what they do. Their business model is fair. They handle GOG really well. And they deliver well-optimized quality.Of course this is overhyped. Some people should keep their expectations in check. But yeah...CDPR...the messiah of video games industry. I feel this game is too overhyped. All the delays, Netflix and anime... is this a redflag?
If I had to pick a pet peeve.
Their way of dialogue delivery. Not using prepositions where expected. Talk like this. Got to be cool. Got to knock of unnecessary words every sentence. Straight to the point. Know what I'm saying. This is Wild West. Be talking like this 'round here. In both, Witcher and Cyberpunk. 'S the way to do it. Short to the point. 'S how people talk. Feels not very natural. Sure of it. Feel my gruffiness through this paragraph? Got to be smooth. Gotta keep moving. Gotta go fast.
Anyway, regarding the gameplay in this trailer - I think this mechanic could be interesting on paper, but I feel it will be very context specific and thus only ever come into question when advancing the plot - Thus not really be relevant in a grand scheme of things and fall flat. Kind of like on rails sections or investigation phases in other games. It's nice that they bothered with the world building that much, though. That's important to make the world feel alive. In many other cyberpunk style games you see all this advanced tech or just objects lying around everywhere and hardly ever get to use them or interact with them in any way. The Deus Ex reboots are kinda guilty of this.
