This is great news of course just so much negative bullying and things going on everywhere even on Nexus to a degree with so many obese mods being spammed as an example or heavy handed moderation on Steam and things like that making positive comments tough to make.
Latest facts is that Steam games are making half what they were as a whole this years, from what the news said.
Then Cyberpunk 2077 that everyone was hyped for has had bad and or negative news for regular customers.
Then alot of bullying on Youtube against some of the channels or on Nexus and bullying being a big thing lately everywhere is really making alot of things a downer for alot of reasons and its complicated.
Modding for Cyberpunk 2077 is the best news ever but its facing alot of negative vibes from alot of places.
If i wasnt a really tough guy that laughs in the face of extreme bullying i wouldnt even be making this comment. :)

Here[forums.cdprojektred.com] is somewhat recent, official news regarding mod support.
If there's going to be mod support, I'd expect it to be similar to that of Witcher 3. If you're referring to paid mods with that last bit, I could never, ever see that happening.

Don't use paid mods if you don't want to pay for them.
Simple.
You guys are getting upset about things that literally don't affect you one bit.
The only people that anything paid affect are the people that pay for it.
So.... again, don't use them then.
As far as the corruption and exploitation thing... come on. The price of games hasn't gone up in, what? A decade or so? Are you saying that, in the place of paying extra for a mod or paying for DLC or microtransations that you'd rather pay $30 more for the game?
Because, either way they want their money.
Valve also tried to close the Free steam workshop community in the past (they left the idea a few days later because of the massive community backlash)... restricting free mods is never an option, even bethesda couldnt do it

i agree a third person mod and other custom mods can fix the entire Cyberpunk outrage!

Be cool to see mods in general though. Inb4 flying cars and lightcycles!
Huh? Who cares if there are paid mods... What difference does a mod you have to pay for make if you don't buy it?
Are you really THAT concerned about what someone else has or can do that you'd rather see NO modding rather than paid mods?!
Wow.
You wanna know why people care? check bethesda's money maker creation club and compare their bugged low quality versions to the ones you find on nexus. People that are passionate modders often do it without forcing the community to pay money.
i still remember 14 years ago when adding a 20$ dlc ITEM in a game was a greedy insanity, now people are trying to justify enforced paid mods What's next? paid ammunition in a shooter game? it's okay to find new ways to make extra money but know your limits.

That was my point.
There are free mods and there are sometimes paid mods. Whether you see them on the workshop or not, there are almost always paid mods for most popular games. Usually those tend to be far more thought-out, have better support and generally much more depth.
I get that people are saying that making things paid only causes people to be angry. But, isn't that kind of what a game is? It's paid entertainment. You don't NEED the paid mods. So, again.. I really don't get why people are stressing themselves. I guess that's what I meant when I initially responded.
If they are going to charge for mods, and you don't want to pay for mods, then don't pay for mods.
Maybe that's less harsh and more friendly of a way to put it.
