Also i tried raytracing but it was never worth it (especially due to the performance drop 30-50%) and DLSS was also a let down - it made the picture look blurry (i would never use it - i use 4k for the clean image - why would i use something that blurs the picture for performance ... - and when i tried it it was actually a blur that was noticeable).
Lights change everything in a game, just view Minecraft with Raytracing disabled and enabled, you'll see a huge different, only one setting switched on then off? that does make a huge difference to my eye.
But yes, the RTX 3xxx is not going to have that much gpu increase, but its only architecture from Ampere to Volta, Im still on Pascal Arch, It would be nice if the RTX 2xxx prices go down... and not up because of the Mining crysis...

I've been playing Surviving Mars recently. Do I get a medal?
I don't think I've played Wild Hunt since ~2017. As for cod, It's okay, but I'm more of a sockeye salmon guy myself.

Lots of games to play that are out and upcoming that are not those 2 games. I do like The Witcher 3 though, it's an amazing game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is the game I want most out of all upcoming. TBH I'm pleased for the delay because I'm waiting for the new Nvidia RTX 3080TI to be released so I can use DLSS 2.0 & Raytracing

Cause trolls say that the game is just COD. But that's not the worst part, the worst part is - a lot of people legit believe that Cyberpunk 2077 is just a shooter or GTA but in cyberpunk setting. And they will try to play it like that games, oh my, expect a lot of disappointed people after release.Originally posted by Sl1ngShot:I can't see the connection. Yeah, i'm an avid Witcher fan but i couldn't care less about COD. I'm currently playing Desperados 3 though, close to finishing it.

The last CoD I enjoyed playing was released more than 13 years ago.
I haven't touched TW3 since 2017. (As much as I love it.)
There are a handful of game concepts that are on a very short list of "pipe dream" games for me. Games that I consider "dream games" I might only see once in a lifetime if I'm lucky.
An open world, dense, crowded, hyper-detailed, richly atmospheric, first person, single player cyberpunk game with choice and consequence systems is one of them. The fact that it just so happens to be the same developer who made one of my favorite previous games, with a demonstrated penchant for long term payoffs and strong atmosphere and worldbuilding aptitude, is simply a happy coincidence.

I can already tell you that its not worth it at all. 3080 TI will be priced way too high for sure - the perforamnce increase to 2080ti will probably be about 30% but there arent any real numbers yet. Even with 30% Raytracing will cost way too much performance and will barely be visible in real life gaming - besides some specific scenes - also if baked lighting is made well you wont even see the difference.
Save your money.

Also when you watch comparisons with DLSS - watch out. For some weird reason some sites compare DLSS screenshots with lower resolution normal screenshots. Also yes old games with RT look great - but thats a bad comparison because you compare high end lighting with low end tech from years ago (for example look at BF5 comparison of raytracing on and off - there are few cases where you actually see a difference but when actually playing the game you wont even notice that).
