there will be mulitplayer, yes, but not when the game releases. multiplayer will come sometime after the game launches

They were talking about including multiplayer after all the DLC, so thats a future plan and not for release, as far as I know. I also think they will give multiplayer as separated game mode and not include multiplayer into singleplayer.
