Things you need to fix before the release
Saw some raw gameplay reel and I'm quite disappointed. The game seems totally unpolished, I just wonder where all those years went... Anyway, since you decided to postpone the game launch you will have to fix the following list of things. Feel free to add more.
Here's all new gameplay stitched together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krR31YlkR_0
- 2:15: goon keeps talking even after death. Really? This kind of bugs shouldn't even be present at this point.
- 3:17: head physics are straight from 2003. Hell even in 2003 there were better physics. If you have this kind of physics this deep in development you gonna need another year of delay.
- 4:20: EVERY reviewer is boasting about choices (as well as your dev team). Yet there's no choice whether to avoid conflict here and at 9:56. Why? Feels linear.
- 8:30: the whole animation transition in this scene is clunky. Characters twitch instead of smooth transition. You probably didn't play RDR2.
- 8:40: this melee fight looks awful, feels like your hits don't have impact. Kind of like in Kingdom Come. You can fix it with more punchy sounds and decals on characters. Add bruises to bodies. Also the whole melee mechanic are very primitive. You gonna have to work on that. Again, check out RDR2 it has simple you "punchy" melee fights. Even Chronicles of Riddick from 2004 had better melee fights.
- 9:50. The scene doesn't make any sense. Why would main character go to mechanic in the first place if he could fix the damn thing by himself? Also where's a choice to be friendly instead of being a jerk? Zero choices here. Mass Effect did it better almost 10 years ago.
- 11:20: world props just pop 3 meters away. I remember this issue with GTAV when it first came out on consoles years ago. Oh, god, it looks really really bad. Also there are no pedestrians and cars on the road. It's just empty.
- Some people report that driving is just "fine". It has to be awesome. Something between GTA IV and V.
- Haven't seen any car damage yet. Hope there's car damage with decals, dents etc. like in GTA.
- Hope the controls are good with M&K.
Things that ok at this point:
- Braindance is awesome feature! Watched videos from three "reviewers" and no one referenced original Bladerunner. They also kept whining about how long it was, yet it was just a tutorial.
- Graphics are good. But since you need "to polish" the game this should also run on old hardware.
- Shooting seems ok.
That's it, you have 5 months to crunch and fix those issues.
