I have an issue with Oda in the Play it Safe mission. I can't keep him alive.

I beat him unconscious with nonlethal weapons. I get the message from Takemura telling me to proceed with the mission and asking me to spare Oda. I tell Oda it's his lucky day and get Takemura's message thaking me for sparing him.

Then Oda takes critical damage from nowhere and dies. I've tried this a half dozen times and I can't keep the guy alive .
