I don't get the appeal of Ubisoft games like Assassins Creed but I don't go into any of those forums stating my opinion. If people enjoy a game then good for them, if they don't then they should just move on.

Refusing to aknowledge the failure of something to avoid admitting you have been a fool is a common mind mechanism. How something wich you were beliving in so hard could be a failure, a disappointment? It's better, and easier, to keep fooling yourself making you beliving that it is the true and unique masterpice arktwork ecc ecc you were to belive.

The hype comes from fans of the game/genre. If you don't understand it then the game simply isn't for you. That's okay, the game isn't designed for everybody in mind. A game isn't trash because it doesn't fit your tastes.
