Voice acting/writing/voiceless protagonist
I hate hearing pharses like 'hella cool' and sort of trendy lingo in games.. cringy and breaks immersion. Like would a corporate assassin (V) say 'hella cool'? Even Judy and Jackie... I dunno. Seems like lingo/slang is overused.
Do you think there will be the option to turn speech off? Or even better, Just have V's speech off? Voiceless protagonist in my opinion really adds to immersion (think Bloodlines, Pathologic 2, any number of games really)
What's your opinion peeps? Am I the only one hella shook by this? Is it just whatevs? Stay lit fam, and remember.....YOLO.

As for turning off the voice, maybe we will see a mod for that some time after release, but I don't think he devs will do it, considering how much they emphasize the cinematic feel.
But there's a distinction there... Like the slang of the cyberpunk world 'eddies' for example or 'brain potato'...is not the same as the slang of today 'bae' etc. I think they're trying to shoehorn in modern slang. It ages poorly and quickly IMO.

I like the male and female voices for V and Dex but Jackie's voice is a little jarring. I'm Mexican-American so hearing him switch between English and Spanish sounds weird. I don't do that. People I know don't do that. I speak one language or the other, not both at the same time. It bothers me, actually. But this entire game is being done by white people; the most they know about Spanish speakers is when they eat a burrito made by another white person.

If I envision my character to have a high-pitched voice and hear Barry White in-game, it'd ruin my immersion.Originally posted by KRON:Why, exactly? The protagonist is still engaging in dialogue.Originally posted by IL'dar:Voiceless protagonist makes roleplay better overall.

It is based on the preference of the player. Voiceless dialogue only needs to be well written, voiced dialogue is additionally impacted by the speakers voice, inflection and speed among other things.Originally posted by KRON:Originally posted by IL'dar:Voiceless protagonist makes roleplay better overall.
