This has been confirmed in trailers. It also fits in with the actual novels on CP2020. There is a lot of respect given to the original lore (though there are differences too, like the voodoo boys not being a bunch of white wanna-bes). Alt Cunningham (Silverhands in universe girlfriend in 2020) is the original programmer of soul killer. Which serves as the basis for our chip in 2070. Saburo Arasaka, CEO of the most powerful megacorp Arasaka Industries, ends up kidnapping her and refining the program.
Soulkiller in the original story basically copies the users personality and knowledge, then 'erases' the brain leaving a husk. In this way a ghost in the shell-esque immortality could be achieved.
Obviously this does not translate 100% into the game, but its interesting to see some divergent results already.

Ya i didnt even think about that and in one of the trailers it shows you waking up in a dumpster like you died so ya maybe that chip u implent in your self in the story after stealing it for a buyer or what ever they showed off is the immortal chip but maybe its very unstable or some thing.
But ether way hope it gives us immortally in any case or we get a chip for it would be cool to see how the future dlcs and expansions go and if they deside to make some of the npcs look like there aging while we dont would be neat to see and experiance threw story how that plays out.

I don't see why not, loading from a save really makes you feel an "outsider"- playing a character, whereas Wake up somewhere like GTA always does feels you are bonding with the character more.Originally posted by Mako Ruu:It's probably the mechanic for when you die, and wake up somewhere, instead of just reloading a save.
