Not to leave any port to linux of any game, when it left that poor port of The Witcher 2 for linux, had the face of being offended by the complaints towards that broken product.
You have to understand that there is no justification for CD PROJEKT RED, they behaved in a childlike way as the users who went over the line.

Well - i do. And what i also like is the freedom of not beeing forced to ONE SINGLE PLATFORM TO RULE THEM ALL.
Thats not mentioning all the marketing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t, year old bugs and spying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t.
DX12 is just a blatant copy of VULKAN anyway.

Good stability via Valve's Proton would be enough for me. Meaning I wouldn't preorder it until announcement of the native port or until I am sure it would run smoothly enough on my system via Proton. Not to mention that it would be absolutely meaningless to buy Cyberpank 2077 in their own store without linux native support.
I am guessing they will launch Galaxy 2.0 with Cyberpank 2077. If its beta would provide any linux support, I say we have a chance for the native port of the game. Otherwise, not much of a luck I am afraid.

or VULKAN. since stadia is linux with vulkan ond AMD and supports ray tracing i guess til then the vulkan api supports rt for every platform and video card
btw. win7 isnt supported anymore, when 2077 comes out............ just sayin. no one should use it in 2020

yes but that doesn't mean they won't release any DX11 games anymore :D
When Vista was not supported anymore some devs still released for WinXP.

Given how The Witcher 3 ran on WINE and later flawlessly in Steamplay Proton.
Assuming the engine and graphics API hasn't changed, it should work. I'm not sure if the game will exclusively use DX12, given how there are still a decent contingent of Windows 7 users in PC Gaming (around 20% of the Steam Hardware survey last I checked), then it'd be logical to add in DX11 support, which is what Proton is compatible with.
Aside from that, there's also other projects to emulate DX12, although I don't think they're at the same point that DXVK is with DX11.

I support you guys, but as a commenter pointed out above and the fact that linux is a small community and doing anything for linux is just....charity. Even if you make a profit, for most companies that doesn't do much when you can just concentrate on Windows. For the shareholder who could careless about the common linux user because of how small the market is. Im sorry to say, OP, but you're gonna wait a long time.
The Switch would see a release first as it has a bigger market share cause linux gamers only make up .05% of the gaming market share and switch has sold 37 million units as my google search points out.

I'm agree with you with some points, but your stat is quite old (0.84% right now) and with Stadia coming soon, Linux/Vulkan implementations can be much more appealing that you can think.

this isn't the right attitude. make your request, but don't be ill-mannered. a steamos port would be totally cyberpunk, but even if they don't dedicate a team for it, I will still buy the game, and hack until it works with proton. worst comes to worst, I will play it on binbows
