If you interested, there are some really good places to start.

Side note: There are many awesome distros other than ubuntu out there, and it's free and easy to play with them, but you don't have to get started (sometimes this choice overwelms people, but it's not that big of a thing).

Linux is just a OS. It doesn't look like anything in particular. Its objectively better with simple problem that people don't use it due to low consumer market share which means people don't make software supported for it meaning people don't adopt linux.... meaning people don't make software for it..... ....... ......
