I have the same question myself. The game looks amazing visually, but the gameplay doesn't really look fun from what I've seen.

All the above is true, but also...
Cyberpunk as a concept has many fans who have been disappointed at the way that genre has drifted away into almost nothing.
What was once so full of potential and excitement, reflecting and predicting the way modern life wad going seems to have withered on the vine.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a chance to ride that wave again, and maybe...just maybe...spark a new life for that genre in books, games, movies etc.
Now if only the Matrix 4 can come out and be great at roughly the same time. Wishful thinking I know

CD Project RED what else you need to know ?. this is the one DEV that has my Per-Order every time they make a game. i would not put it past that Cyberpunk 2077 will be bigger then GTA-5 i cant wait.

I get that it's the same developers that made the Witcher 3, and I love that game. But other than that why do so many people seem to be so excited about this game?because its badass

In this thread I have seen many good reasons. Keanu Reeves, The Future, Graphics, etc. There's many different reasons. Some of the reasons I'm hyped for it is because the sheer size of the world. It's a massive world, many different districts and many different buildings and areas to explore.
I also have seen some gameplay videos that mainly showcase missions and combat. The missions and main combat system seem to be very complex and in depth. The graphics are actually very visually appealing, the story seems very lengthy and intriguing. There's a massive amount of romance options and who can forget that the game is made by CD Projekt? Those reasons are enough to make any gamer, or anybody really, excited for the game.

Because the people like what they saw at e3, trailers and gameplay.
And because of CDPR being the developer who is working on this game, people are very optimistic that Cyperpunk is gonna be a really good game.

This has been asked many times before. Several reasons, some people buy it "because CDP", some buy it because they love the cyberpunk genre, and others, well in the age of microtransactions seeping into SP campaigns, games that don't employ such practices do appeal to the crowd (at least in SP). Or a culmination of all of the above reasons, and more.
