I think the map is not going to be huge in terms of ground area, and much of the game's size is vertical, so you might not be miles and miles away. Maybe there will be a "fast travel" option..

Why wouldn't it? Witcher 3 doesn't have loading screens except when fast travelling and, well, loading into the game.They've said there won't be any after that 2018 statement, too, I'm sure I've seen ..
